Delete your WorkStation account
You can delete your WorkStation account yourself, from inside the app, on any device. This page explains how, what is removed, what is kept, and what to do if you cannot sign in. WorkStation is operated by EldoNova+ Technologies.
How to delete your account
- 1Sign in to WorkStation — in the Android app, or at wsmeetchat.com in any browser.
- 2Open Settings. On a phone this is under You; on a computer it is at the bottom of the left-hand rail.
- 3Choose Delete account, the last entry in the settings list.
- 4Read what it tells you will happen. Those details come from your own account, not from this page.
- 5Type DELETE to confirm, and press Delete my account.
Your account is deleted at least 30 days after you ask — never sooner. It can be later: if a workspace you are the only owner of turns out to have people in it who have not yet been warned, we warn them and the whole request moves back another 30 days, and we email you the new date. The app always shows the date it is currently set for.
Nothing is removed until then. Signing in cancels the deletion at any time before it begins — as does the Cancel button on that same screen. So if you change your mind, or somebody else asked for this, simply sign in. Once deletion has begun it cannot be stopped, and nothing it removes can be recovered.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in, profile and personal settings.
- Your membership of every workspace you belong to.
- Your private boards, saved items and notifications.
What is kept, and why
- Messages you sent stay in the conversations they were sent to, authored by “Deactivated User”.
- Your name, profile photo, bio and contact details are stripped from them.
A conversation belongs to everyone in it. Removing one person’s messages would take away half of what their colleagues wrote and, in a clinical workspace, part of a record of care. So the words stay and the person is removed from them: no name, no photograph, no contact details, authored by “Deactivated User”. Records that must survive a deletion by law — the append-only audit log, and billing records your workspace is required to keep — are kept for that reason and nothing else.
If you are the only owner of a workspace
A workspace with no owner cannot be handed to anybody, so it is deleted with your account — along with everything in it.
That means every channel, every message, every file, every recording, transcript and board belonging to that workspace, for every person in it, not only for you. Once deletion has begun it cannot be stopped, and nothing it removes can be recovered.
Before you confirm, the app names each workspace this applies to and how many people are in it — read from your own account at that moment, never guessed. If you would rather the workspace carried on without you, make somebody else an owner first, in Settings › People, and then delete your account: you will simply be removed from it.
If you cannot sign in
Write to contact@wsmeetchat.com from the email address on the account, saying that you want the account deleted. We reply to the address on the account rather than to whoever wrote in, because that is the only thing that shows the request came from the account holder. If your password is the only problem, resetting it at wsmeetchat.com/forgot-password is quicker, and then the steps above apply.
If your workspace is managed by an employer, its owner can also remove you from it — but only you can delete the account itself. How WorkStation handles personal data more generally is in the privacy policy.
