A code on the door or the desk is the whole of it. A patient scans it, and a card appears on your board in the first stage of the queue — no clipboard, no keyboard at reception, and no queue that exists only in one person's head. Staff see the same board from every machine, because the queue lives on the server rather than in a browser tab.

A name never reaches the screen
The card is identified by a short code, and that code is the card's title — not a label sitting next to a name, but the only thing the title can contain. The server refuses to rename it. That is why a waiting-room display, a patient's own tracker and every notification can be shown in a public room without a redaction step somebody might forget.

Patients watch their place from their own phone
Checking in gives the patient a private link to their own tracker. They can see how many people are ahead, step outside for air, and know they have not lost their place — which removes most of the queries a front desk fields on a busy morning, and most of the reason to hover at the counter.

You can see where time actually goes
Every move between stages is recorded, so the board knows how long each patient has been waiting and where the delay actually is. Not an impression that mornings are busy, but which stage a queue is stalling in — and the history records that a card's details changed without keeping a copy of what they were.

Common questions
- Do patients need an app?
- No. They scan a code with the camera app their phone already has, and the tracker opens in the browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
- Is a patient's name ever displayed publicly?
- No. A queue card is identified by a short code, and that code is the card's title — the server refuses to rename it to anything else. The waiting-room display is sent only the fields a public screen is allowed to show.
- Can the waiting-room screen run on a TV?
- Yes. The display is its own page, so it can run on a dedicated screen or a spare monitor without taking over the machine at reception, and it keeps itself up to date in the background.
- What happens if a patient refreshes the page?
- Nothing changes. Their code is remembered on their own device, so a refresh does not create a second entry or count them twice.
- Can we run more than one queue?
- Yes. Each clinic or department is its own Space with its own board and its own stages, visible to the staff who are members of it and to nobody else.
